USCIS Reverting to 2008 Naturalization Test

On February 22, USCIS announced a policy change for its Naturalization civics test. It is getting rid of the new version of the test which was implemented on December 1, 2020 by the Trump administration. The new test had more questions and a higher threshold and was deemed more difficult. USCIS acknowledged that the test “may inadvertently create potential barriers to the naturalization process. All applicants who applied between December 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021 will have a choice of test. All applicants with interviews April 19 or later will take the 2008 test. The 2008 test requires at least 6 out of 10 answers correct from a list of 100 pre-selected civics questions. If you are studying for your Naturalization Civics Test, resources are located here.
