Trump Extends H, L, J Visa Proclamation and Immigrant Visa Proclamation until 3/31/21

President Trump has extended the previous Presidential Proclamations he issued earlier last year in connection with H, L, and J nonimmigrant visa issuance, as well as Immigrant Visa issuance at US Consulates abroad until March 31, 2021. The bans were set to expire on December 31, 2020. Foreign nationals who were in the US on June 24, 2020 ,or held a valid visa in one of the restricted categories on June 24 pursuant to which they seek entry, or hold a valid advance parole card are not covered by the ban. National interest exceptions from the bans are still available per State Department criteria. President-Elect Joe Biden is expected to review and possibly rescind these bans once in office on January 20, 2021. Any updates on the rescission of the bans will be provided.
