Diversity Visa Lottery Open for Registration
Entrants for the Fiscal Year 2024 Diversity Visa Lottery have from October 5 until November 8, 2022 at noon EST to register online on the State Department’s website. Lottery entrants must meet strict criteria, including being a native of an eligible country, have at least a high school education or two years of qualifying work experience within the last five years, and be admissible to the U.S.
Eligibility Requirements:
The lottery is for those from countries with historically low immigration to the U.S. This fiscal year, all countries can enter except the following: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong SAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea), United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Natives of Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible.
Applicant must meet the education/work experience requirement. The applicant must have at least a high school education or its equivalent, or two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.
Must be admissible to the United States under 8 USC Sec. 1182.
Historically, entrant selection announcements have been made in May of the following year of registration. You may check your registration through the official E-DV website.
