COVID-19 Vaccine Required for Green Card Applicants, Starting October 1, 2021
Starting October 1, 2021, green card applicants will be required to obtain a full COVID-19 vaccination to complete their medical examination for Permanent Residency.
Only individuals eligible for the vaccine (Ages 12+) will be required to complete this vaccine.
This new policy, implemented by the CDC order applies to both applicants in the US applying for Adjustment of Status and those outside the US applying through Consular Processing.
The CDC requires 8 other vaccines and a medical exam performed by a Civil Surgeon or Panel Physician as part of every green card application.
As a reminder, for international airline passengers ages two years and older, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires a negative COVID test or evidence of recent COVID recovery in order to travel to the United States.
